What is ProDerm Technology®

ProDerm Technology® is a novel topical delivery system which integrates with the skin. Currently, it is used in sun care, skin care and cosmeceutical products. It is also a suitable carrier for pharmaceutical products.

When formulated for non-pharmaceutical products, ProDerm Technology® has many advantages:

The Science

ProDerm Technology® is a pH balanced mixture of fatty acids delivered in the form of a mousse. The mousse delivery provides better coverage compared to most creams. The added fatty acids incorporated in the formula further assist in the permeability of the skin. In addition other ingredients are incorporated for cosmetic purposes.

In the area of drug delivery, this platform provides a delivery vehicle that increases the efficacy of topical drug delivery and allows better coverage. Since penetration is increased by the presence of fatty acids, this allows the delivery of molecules beyond the stratum corneum. In addition, molecules that are not consumed by the body are naturally eliminated through desquamation of the skin layers.
